Commissions
Photoworks has built a national reputation for its unique commissions. We invite artists to make new work in response to particular locations or contexts, mainly in the South East of England, an area with a rich and diverse history, population and geography. Artists are given the freedom to develop their own work in response to these contexts, supported by a curatorial team. Commissions may result in an exhibition, a publication or digital work.

Exhibitions
As well as commissioning new work, Photoworks collaborates with art galleries in England and abroad, curating exhibitions that have particular resonance in the chosen venue. We also support the professional development of photographers and independent curators in the region. Our work aims to engage with a wide range of interests and experiences, making contemporary photography accessible and relevant to everyone.
